Pabalat
The Pabalat is a traditional papercutting art that originated from the province of Bulacan. It involves sketching designs on a papel de hapon or simply known as "pastillas wrapper", and cutting it using cuticle scissors. This art consists of drawing intricate designs on a paper so thin that you really need to be careful when handling it.
My insight when I made my own was that it was very difficult especially cutting through very small spaces. One wrong move and it can tear the whole apper since it's very delicate and thin. Knowing that people from Bulacan do this means a lot because it shows that they have a lot of patience and are very creative people. It really is hard to do and cutting one by one was very difficult and my patience was really tested.
